If Stevie Ray Vaughan and Otis Redding Had a Baby ... LOL

... he would sound and play like Chris Stapleton , right?  LOL

(With even more country twang than Stevie Ray, though)

"Cold" - Chris Stapleton

Sometimes I play this little game called "Who influenced their style?" as far as modern musicians?

Of course, unless you have seen or read an interview that confirms this, you'll never know (which I haven't), but I nevertheless have been racking my brain since this weekend, being in Johnson County, KY (where Chris is from), trying to figure out who influenced his unique voice and style of play, and I'm came up short - but that's the best I could do -  Stevie Ray Vaughn + Otis Redding = Chris Stapleton lol.

See if you can hear it, too?

"Texas Flood" - Stevie Ray Vaughn

"Try a Little Tenderness" - Otis Redding ...

BUT - since both of those men were influenced by BB King, let's say BB King would be Chris's honorary granddaddy? :)

"The Thrill is Gone" - BB King

Oh, and let's throw in  a little Ray Charles as his uncle?

"Georgia on My Mind" - Ray Charles

Thus, I added it to my first post about visiting this region, three posts below  ;)
