Geez, what a day of deaths ... this one the most upsetting for me, personally - because the Vietnamese (Zen) Buddhist monk of Plum Tree Village, Master of Mindfulness (upon which mindfulness therapy is based) and political activist/reformer, has died at the age of 95 :(
Martin Luther King was so impressed with Thich that he nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967 (which ultimately was not given that year.
Also, Catholic monk, political activist, and author, Thomas Merton, was also a fan.
Let us do our best to try to remember what they taught us and strive to live their lives as they did :)
