I didn't get a picture of this, because we were turning onto the highway that is New Circle Road, but yesterday, when getting yet another cath specimen at my urologist's office on Harrodsburg Road, we noticed a group of about 6 white senior citizens - appearing to be in their 70s - standing on the corner of Harrodsburg Road and New Circle Road, holding high signs that said things like:
"This Vet Says No U.S. Troops in U.S. Cities!"
We, and mostly everyone else, honked twice in appreciation, thumbs upped, smiled and waved! 😍
I have wondered how it was possible that the same generation that was horrified by the national guard killings of 4 Vietnam War protestors at Kent State University in Ohio in 1970 could ever applaud Trump and troop deployment in our cities - but apparently, it actually took Trump mobilizing troops in our major cities for them to finally wake up/get involved.
When I got home, I looked them up - there's not much on them, except that 6 months ago, they were outside Mitch McConnell's Lexington office protesting, but gently removed, so they moved to this busy public-land corner down the street.
(By the way, Mitch McConnell's satellite Lexington office is on the corner of Harrodsburg Road and Corporate Drive - Corporate Drive being a fitting address for this senator who has made a career out of being corporate lackey, don't you think?)
Go Lexington Senior Citizens!
A little late to the party, but better late than never, welcome - we're glad to see you! 😂
Hey - don't mess with our senior citizens and vets, Trumpers - you do, and it's on - Lexington loves its veterans and senior citizens - you'd have all of Lexington to contend with. 😉

PS - Then again, others are still sleeping - or brainwashed - to the point they're contradicting themselves or undermining their own talking points.
So like other states, Governor Beshear (Democrat) - and Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton (Non-Trump Republican) - received the Trump memo, last week, requesting removal of our rainbow crosswalk - which we implemented in solidarity with the LGBTQ community after the Orlando Pulse nightclub shootings in 2016, approved by our city council and implemented by our former mayor, Jim Gray (D - openly gay), as well as current mayor, Linda Gorton (R - non-Trump moderate).
However, some comments I read under the articles about this said things like "King Andy says no, he won't get rid of the rainbow. All Hail King Andy! Just like when he wouldn't let us go to church during COVID."
It got several likes, but made no sense.
