FDA Approves The Fall COVID Booster - But Only For Healthy Adults Over 65 ?!? - (Updated With Pharmacist Input)

So I'm sitting here on my couch, wrapped up in a blanket and eating my lunch after sleeping most of the morning, because I'm sick right now, wondering if I have COVID, despite the first test being negative (that often happens) - in other words, not feeling well, so forgive the tone of this post - or not?

Then the NYT just alerted me that the FDA approved the new COVID booster, but only those over 65 - UNLESS - you have an underlying health condition!?!

So now I'm on hold with Walgreens, trying to find out if this means we can then pay out of pocket for it or if it means we're banned altogether from receiving it???

Because if it's the latter, this means, of course, Mark can get vaccinated due to underlying health issue, but I cannot.

So what's the point?

Vaccination doesn't prevent COVID, it just mitigates the severity of symptoms, which can be worse in groups with underlying health conditions. 

And vaccination clearly worked - but now you're going to undo it all?

Based on what -  a few worst-case scenarios that happen with any drug you can name on the market?

God, RFK Jr is such a dumb, delusional A-hole - way too many psychedelics in his youth.

No wonder that worm he claimed he had in his brain died - probably from starvation, because he doesn't have 2 brain cells to rub together!

PS - I spoke with the pharmacist. Here's what he said:

"Ohhh my God, hadn't heard yet. Okay, here's the thing - even if the FDA label is too restrictive, if the CDC recommends broader population usage, we will do that instead.  The guidelines haven't been updated yet, I see, so  they haven't decided yet. Let us hope the CDC advisory board isn't full of anti-vaxxers, now, too."
