You still need to use an alternate/somebody else's cell phone - which kinda defeats the purpose of an authentication app for extra security - but it's the only other way to do it because MFA is designed for mobile apps only - and again, only if your company allows/has enabled this extra feature.
Either from your work site's security sign-in website on your PC or laptop - or the MFA app from someone else's phone (again, if company allows this feature) - choose "authenticate another way" and scroll down past the apps way and choose "send a text code: to the alternate phone you're using and you can get in that way.
Make sure you can trust the person who's phone you're using is all I can recommend. 😆
Otherwise, Microsoft really needs to come up with a browser way to do this, right?
