And in the End ...

Kamala called Trump to congratulate him, assured him of a peaceful transfer of power, and gave an inspirational concession speech, without belittling or berating anybody - and NO TEARS - nor throwing fits, nor encouragement to storm the Capitol.

She conducted herself with grace, dignity, maturity and class - much better than her male opponent has ever done, or could ever do, on his best day.

And that's all you can do - lead by example and hope others follow suit, and if they don't?

That's on their souls, not ours.

Thank you, Kamala - you're one heck of a woman and a human being, truly remarkable.

We couldn't be prouder of you and how you've conducted yourself throughout.

In fact, I doubt we will see a better candidate in our lifetime.

PS - Surprised by men we know that stated they were going to vote for Kamala, who instead wore orange today, signifying they were celebrating a Trump win instead.

When we questioned them about why they switched last minute to Trump, they all said "The economy."

Ya know what I think?

I think this sudden, last minute switch to Trump, citing "the economy" as excuse, is actually male code-speak justification for "I can't bring myself to vote for a woman." 😉

Because when our next question was "Oh? What specifically about Trump's plan for the economy do you like?"  - they all hemmed and hawed and finally admitted they had no idea - every single time!  😂

And we've had lengthy discussions with these same men previously about how:

1)   Trump actually has no specific plan on how to "fix" the economy, and he's been asked several times - but then neither does Kamala, other than less tax shelters for corporations and the wealthy.
The only thing he's vaguely mentioned was raising foreign tariffs for exports again, a plan which already failed during his last presidency and put us further in debt - because these countries just raised the price of our imports and their services in retaliation, and this is part of the reason we're in this mess now.

2)   Unemployment is low and jobs have been rising since April, with record-high pay - it's just the cost of goods and services is out of control.

3)   The POTUS does not have the power to fix inflation, only Congress can - but they won't - because it would be price regulation, and people would scream socialism/communism.

4)   Trump gave the  largest tax shelters in history for corporations and the wealthiest 1% during his last presidency, which resulted in the tax burden being on the rest of us

And contrary to Republican fantasy, corporate profits have never once "trickled down" onto the rest of us.  Local trickle-down works, but never once at the corporate or multinational level.

5)   In addition to regurgitating his previous failed economic "plan" of foreign tariffs being part of the problem rather than the solution, the biggest reason we're in this mess is COVID - initially to recoup losses that caused a ripple effect, but now just plain price-gouging gone unchecked, despite receiving huge subsidies.
There is also something to be said for corporations historically always raising their prices when a Democrat is in office, because they tend not to give corporations as many tax shelters

6)   Most importantly, he bankrupted his own company FOUR TIMES - and had to be bailed out all 4 times - not exactly a ringing endorsement for his financial prowess.

So I call bullshit on this last-minute "economy" excuse - I suspect this is just how men lamely justify not being able to bring themselves to vote for a woman - as IF we women aren't wise to that excuse 😜
