Crush on Speed Racer - Is It Genetic? ;)

 

So I was texting with my newly-discovered first cousin (DNA testing), last night, and she was showing me family pictures, and in one of them, she had a Shaun Cassidy shirt on.  

Of course, I also had a huge crush on Shaun Cassidy, back in the day -  just about every elementary-school-age girl did. 

She sent me this photo, which I hearted, of course lol

The she then looked him up to see if he was even still alive and he is ...

???

Oh, Shaun, my elementary school lovah - what has happened to you? 

You've had too much work done, too early on, and now you're starting to look like Wayne Newton in Vegas :/

THEN my cousin told me that her first crush was actually Speed Racer.

I texted back "SHUT UP -  SO WAS MINE!"

I couldn't believe it!  

People always laughed at me when I told them that, they were like, "But ... he's a cartoon!"

So?  He was super sexy! 

(Like I even knew what sexy was then, but he got my crush engine going, for sure lol.)

Thus, my newly found cousin is the only other person in the world that I have ever met who's first crush was also Speed Racer lol.

Then when relaying this to her mom (my newly-discovered aunt), she said, "Must be genetic.  I still know every word to that song."

Ha - that's awesome!
